Oliver Springs High School students recently participated in a math competition held on Tuesday, April 8th, hosted by the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association. The students who competed were selected based on their exceptional scores on the Algebra II End of Course exams (EOCs). The participants included Thomas Proffit, Caylee Gallaher, Kayleigh Reynolds, Wyatt Zeigler, Cole Tedder, Alie Brown, and Dakota Polten. We are proud to announce that several of our students placed in the top ten in their respective divisions, with two students achieving placements in the top three. Noah Christy secured first place in Geometry, while Brayden Thomas achieved second place in Algebra 1. When asked about their experience, students described the competition as “a fun opportunity” and appreciated it as a chance to "showcase what they were good at."

Junior Sarah Yoakley won first place in Spanish Poetry, while Sophomore Kylie Alexander received first place in Medical Terminology. Additionally, the hosts of Bobcat Talk—Juniors Liam Boeke, Zachary Hamby, and Ethan Jones—submitted a video that earned first place in the Journalism Sports Feature category.
